Katie Summerhayes is a 22 year old British Freestyle Skier who finaled at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, coming 7th in the final for Team GB.

Katie first learned to ski at the Sheffield Ski Village, an artificial ski slope with a half-pipe and freestyle area. She also represented Team GB in Innsbruck at the 2012 Youth Olympic Games where she was nominated by her teammates to carry the British flag at the ceremony.

She is the first British female skier to win a medal in a World Cup event in 19 years when she finished second in the slopestyle competition in Silvaplana in 2013.

After competing in the 2014 Olympics, Katie won a gold medal in slopestyle at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Valmalenco, Italy.

In 2015, Katie became the first British female competitor to win a medal at the World Championships in freestyle skiing. Katie took a silver in the slopestyle event at the Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Kreischberg.

Katie was selected for the Winter Olympic Games coming up in Pyeongchang 2018 for for Freestyle Skiing. Katie blazed through the preliminaries securing a spot in the Slopestyle final. An amazing performaced placed Katie 7th in the finals of the Slopestyle Skiing event.
